I woke up breathing in crisp air through the open window while I wiggled my toes under warm covers. While my husband brewed our daily coffee and brought the steaming mug to me in bed to get me going. I wrapped my fingers around the warm ceramic grateful to be alive, healthy, and loved<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">One woman says \u201cEvery day. I give all I can to the world around me and I am never left wanting. If my keys disappear, I find that I missed a deadly accident. If I am too sick to take care of myself, someone has ordered me food. Unexpected, expensive repairs is a sure sign I had a recent unexpected windfall. There is always enough. There is always a way.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Another scoffs that she didn\u2019t know that such a thing existed. She\u2019s never rolled a 7. All the news is bad or worse, never good and bad. She\u2019s decided that given the choice she\u2019d always choose good news first. If it is gone as quickly as it comes, she\u2019ll never have to wonder when the other shoe will drop.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The fourth, \u201cLife doesn\u2019t love or hate. It\u2019s the older sibling who plays pranks. It reaches into each of us and pulls a string. One string that is wound around our souls. Shedding it leaves us bare in the end. What we make of that pink gushy center then, determines if you are Linsey or Valerie or Paryss or me. \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Life laughed the hardest as she pushed back her chair. She loved them all, hated them all. She kept the energies balanced. The artistry that went into the nuances she sculpted for each was her gift. They should all love her and feel loved. She draws for each what they need to feel safe. She paints their stories and writes their worlds. It\u2019s a thankless job of colossal proportions. She hoped tonight they would see her and the magic she weaves around them. This quartet was the brightest she\u2019s seen and she allowed herself to hope that they would see her too. They hadn\u2019t given her the validation she needed.
